Another update

Hello all! I wanted to send out a quick email to let you all know that I made it to S. Africa safely and on schedule. We had a small glitch with our luggage, but it arrived a few days after me and thankfully I packed enough clothes in my carry-on bag to get me through the first few days. The phone lines have been down for a few days which causes some problems with receiving and sending emails, but hopefully I will have more regular email access soon.

I was able to go to school on Friday for a few hours to greet the students. It was nice to be there. The students in the intermediate classroom did a brief interview with me to learn more about me. We had a great time! The students are preparing to put on a dramatic presentation of “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” I was able to go and observe a bit of their practice on Friday after school; from the looks of things, the presentation is going to be very exciting!

I am not yet sure of what the schedule will be for the next few weeks, but I am looking forward to getting to know the children better as well as the house parents and other American missionaries. I will write more when things settle in a bit. Until next time, have a wonderful week!
