New Year’s Eve

People here really go all out for New Year’s Eve. I was fortunate enough to celebrate the night with two of our Bethesda families and about 6 other couples they are friends with. We had a great time singing, dancing, and listening to music. They had a huge braai going and cooked a bunch of meat and brought in the New Year with prayer and fireworks. The fireworks were pretty exciting. It looked a lot like July 4th in the states, where you can sit in one spot and watch fireworks going off in all directions around you.

It was a very late night that took me a few days to recover from, but I had a very happy new year!
