Nice to Get Away

I enjoy very much living on the Bethesda property amongst the families and the children, but it is DEFINITELY nice every once in a while to get away from the property and relax without having to run around a shopping mall or worry about if you are disturbing others by laughing or talking to loudly.
While Ruth is spending time in the States visiting family, friends, and churches, Heather has been staying at her house in Pretoria with her dogs, Buster and Jessie. Heather knew I had really been needing an opportunity to get away from the property and just relax for the day, so she invited me to come and join her at Ruth’s house Friday night and Saturday for a weekend of resting and getting some school work accomplished. So, Friday afternoon we headed in to town for our relaxing weekend. We stopped at the grocery store and picked up some ingredients for the pizza we had planned to make for dinner and then headed to the house. We worked from about 5:30-7:30 making said pizza, but it looked like something out of a magazine when we finished so we were quite excited. We were even more excited when the pizza actually tasted halfway decent. When the pizza was finally finished, we headed upstairs to watch a movie and chill. After about 20 minutes of “chilling”, Heather was sacked out on the couch. I woke Heather up and convinced her to go to bed about 9:30 and then I went downstairs and caught up on some emails. We both woke up way too early for a Saturday morning and spent the rest of the day bathing two dirty dogs, doing laundry, running errands, lesson planning, chatting, and blog updating. I am so thankful for Heather’s willingness to allow me into her space for the weekend so I could get some much needed rest and time away.
