Birthday at the Zoo
Monday was my friend Mary’s birthday. Mary is a relief worker for the house moms here at Bethesda. I asked Mary what she wanted to do and she said she wanted to go to the zoo. So…we went to the zoo on Wednesda, her day off! I took Mary, her sister Sarah, and Mary’s son Gift, to the Pretoria Zoological Gardens for the day. It was quite fun to watch Mary and the kids enjoy the animals and people at the zoo. We saw many animals that would be typical in a zoo in the U.S. There were however a few things that I found a bit strange about the zoo… along with the typical lions and tigers and bears at the zoo…this zoo also had cows, goats, sheep, and pigs 8) . Hope you enjoy some photos to recount the day at the zoo. After the day at the zoo, I took Mary to have some pizza and birthday cake with the Zak family.
