First Day of School
January 14, 2009
I will write a little bit this weekend about how the first few days go, but I thought pictures and captions might hold you over until then. Hope you enjoy the photos that Heather and I took to capture the first day at JCA for 2009.
- There was order and calm before the storm
- Everything had a place and everything was in its place until…
- the storm hit in full force!
- Heather and I still get to have our morning devotion time with the kids together in my classroom.
- Our theme this year is “Love God More”
- Jack looked so little and cute in his uniform…almost too little for grade R
- Sello is glad to be back
- Albert…oh Albert…not sure school was ready for him, but he was sure ready for school!
- Tumelo missed his mom!
- We though Gontse was going to be the only girl in grade R…thankfully a couple more registered yesterday and today so she isn’t alone with ALL THOSE BOYS!!!
- Josephina had her hands full today, but she made it through day 1 of Grade R.
- Elizabeth was in full form
- She played home affairs for their life skills lesson today and took their finger and hand prints.
- Even Steve seemed to enjoy the first day of school!
- Miss Culver survived Day 1…
- and so did her class!
- Lerato is happy to be back at school and in grade 2
- Time for break…there attempt at making the teams…this led to the question…
- Miss Small, can you choose teams for us?
- Lerry was glad to have soccer time at break and a new ball!
- Not so interested in soccer yet…the playground is still fun for us!
- Heather has a new classroom and all her students are new to her this year.
- One of her students speaks VERY limitted English, but they made it through the day!
- Heather was DEFINITELY in her element with the younger students. She did a great job!
- Miss Small in action
- Blessing turned out to be such a blessing!
- Mpho is trying her best
- Shane is hard at work
- The reading corner is officially up and running
- Josephina even made it through her first two Tswana classes with my kids and Heather’s
- Our Prestige kids, minus one. We now have 9 children going to school off the property including biological children. 7 of them are going to Prestige College (they are in grades 8,9,and 10).
- These were 3 of Heather and my students from last year. They were very excited to go to school today in their taxi.
