Festive Season
In South Africa, the holiday season is known as the “Festive Season”. This Festive Season has been very busy, but also very nice. I don’t know that I’ve taken a single picture of my own in the last 3 months. I happen to know a few people with cameras around here that will probably be delighted to share some of their pictures whenever I get around to asking for them.
Let’s start with Christmas-
I spent the week before Christmas at the house alone with the dogs, whilst Heather and her family went to visit Kruger National Park. The dogs and I decided spending the least amount of time possible with them in the kennel sounded like a great plan. We took several errand runs to make sure we had absolutely everything we needed for Christmas including table decorations for our Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas morning breakfast. Something to serve as stockings for everyone, and any food that we might not be able to get on Christmas Day or the day following, which is also a holiday here.ย We got the house looking pretty fancy by the time our friends came back from their trip to Kruger. Sophie, Addie and I worked hard to even get the Christmas goodies ready for everyone to enjoy when they arrived home.
- The “Kids” on Christmas morning checking out the gifts
- The tree complete with a few wrapped presents and our “stockings”
- Flowers for added festiveness
- Gluten-free and edible for all Christmas tree cake
- Special K cookie Christmas wreath
- Our Christmas Table
Decor looks lovely, but you are even lovlier in your pink Colts shirt ๐ I also think of you every time I am at the grocery store and see something “gluten-free”. I bought corn chex today in your honor (or honour for all you British English people ๐ ). I hope to start on your soccer balls this week once I pick up some more black and white paper ๐ Love to you, friend!
Thanks so much for all the work to help us have a wonderful Christmas. The house was beautiful and the treats were yummy!
