It’s been a while…
February 25, 2011
I haven’t updated my blog in a while. I guess I’ve been a little loaded down with school work and planning. As you know, we have been a bit overwhelmed as well with the death of one of our students’ mothers. We were able to attend the funeral for the mother and have had great opportunities to encourage the grandmother and the little girl in the past weeks. The sadness of these events were in great contrast to the fun and exciting events that have been occuring.
I thought I would update you a little bit on the rest of last couple of weeks in pictures today.
- We have had a visitor for the last few weeks in Tara Woods. Tara is from Arizona and has been a great encouragement to all the teachers at JCA!
- Tara helping the grade 6 students do some research on Scurvy and other common diseases for sailors.
- Heather and I kept Dipuo for the weekend and we managed to squeeze in a trip to the Lion Park about 30 minutes away from our house. Dipuo was SO excited to see the LIONS!
- Dipuo wasn’t too sure about actually touching the lions that she was so excited to see.
- Dipuo and I had a great time fishing during her weekend at our place.
- Fishing requires a LOT of concentration
- This is my grade 5 and 6 class this year. Front: Nombuso & Petu; Middle: Alfred, Joey, Konyana, Thandi, Kele; Back: Happy, Masego, Lebo, Mpho, Julia, Keabetswe and Me.
